Many escapes are made
from pain of grief. Among them are use of drugs, alcohol, anger
and sex to hide from the loss. They are only temporary fixes to
a complicated emotion.
Although children tend to run to the escapes of anger and sex
most often, adults are known to lose more self worth in drug and
alcohol abuse.
The Angels within this chapter (see
table of contents) are meant to encourage you to find
the purpose in life again, and leave behind the escapes.
Ponder on the effects of the escape, think of your choices. Grief
has a way of being heard.
You may temporarily find some comfort in the escape, but the grief
will come back as unresolved grief, sometimes even after 20 years.
What is the absolute worst thing that can happen?
You have already survived the death of a close family member and
it's immeasurable pain. Your own death will only add to the pain
of others.
Support and encouragement to each other is what helps the pain
of loss. Finding new purpose and choices is the alternative to
escape.
